The Battle of Jutland - where my Grandfather, Admiral Sir John Jellicoe, commanded the British Grand Fleet - is my passion.

I finished writing Jutland. The Unfinished Battle ready for 2016 and have just finished revising it for a paperback edition due July 2018. The book explores the context of the battle and its impact. Jutland1916.com, which has a wealth of supporting materials, can be useful to those wishing to explore deeper.

In June 2018 the Jutland Memorial Park, opened in May 2016 in Thyborøn Denmark, will again commemorate the battle. It is right next to the Sea War Museum.

I'm now working on two books - a biography of my father, George, and book on the scuttling of the German Fleet in Scapa Flow in 1919.

I am married to a Peruvian, naturalised American, Patricia, and have two wonderful daughters, Zoë and Francesca. Zoë's an accomplished editor in Berlin while Francesca studied classical chinese and Asian & Middle Eastern Art and Archeology in China and London.

I wanted to be a photo-journalist but was lured to New York to work in advertising instead. I've worked with some great companies - Rolex, Bvlgari and American Express - to name a few. I grew up in the UK and studied politics at York University and at the "Institut des Études Politiques" in Paris. My continued study of (very rudimentary, unfortunately, HSK 2) Chinese reflects my college and family interests in China.
